Living Stewardship Now
Is Jesus the center of your life? If not, why not?
Happy Father's Day to all our St. Brendan Dads!
Summer Choir
Wonder what it’s like to be a music minister at St. Brendan? You have five opportunities this summer. Come alone, with a friend or with your family, as long as you are at least 7 years old. There’s no catch. Come to one or all of these scheduled choir dates. If you play an instrument, you too, may be a part of this group. All are welcome. Here are your five chances to serve as music minister. On these following dates, practice for mass begins at 3:00 p.m. We continue to sing for Mass at 5pm.

Reminder About Donations
Recently, we have been finding anonymous donations left on the church property. These items often must be thrown out because they are perishables which have spoiled, or hygiene items like diapers which cannot be given to social service centers without proof of their origin. Although it may seem like a wonderful gesture to give products anonymously, we can no longer place them adequately. Please take note of the following:
Clothing Donations: Please take to Blessed Sacrament Social Services, 6636 Selma Ave. Hollywood. 323-871-8042
Food Donations: Only Hope Net-approved items can be left in the green bins by the church doors and only on Hope Net Collection Weekend which is the first weekend of the month.
All Other Items: The St. Vincent de Paul truck comes to our church twice a year to pick up household items and other donations. Our bulletin always
announces these dates.

Parking at St. Brendan
The Fire Department has mandated that our parking lots must be accessible for emergency vehicles. In order to comply, the Knights of Columbus have graciously volunteered to provide parking supervision for our main lot for all the Masses on Sundays. We ask for your observance of our NO PARKING zones and your cooperation with the Knights of Columbus, as their goal is to provide safety for our parishioners and their vehicles and to abide by the regulations of the City of Los Angeles. Thank You and God bless,
Msgr. Terry
Donut Donors Needed!
The 8:00am Sunday Mass Hospitality Team Needs Your Help! Please see the team at the hospitality tables after 8am Mass! Remember, you can sign up as part of a group or separately, AND, the donut delivery donor of the week gets a reserved parking space in the church lot!
St. Brendan Homeless Ministry
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Come share the sunshine with the St. Brendan Homeless Ministry at the Blessed Sacrament Social Service Center (6636 Selma Avenue). For about what it costs to take yourself out to lunch, you can contribute to an abundant buffet that serves over a 100 heaping plates of fresh food each week! Every Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a group of dedicated “angels” gather to help feed the less fortunate. How can you join in on the fun? Just sign up to bring an entrée, side dish, desert or drink. Contact Joan Curtin jcurtin@morganlewis.com for more info and to be put on the email list. You’ll be part of a wonderful ministry that delivers food and Christian sunshine to those who might otherwise go hungry. It doesn’t have to be gourmet cooking and it doesn’t have to be every week but once you join us, you’ll be hooked!

Children’s Religious Education Classes
Do you have children in grades first through sixth who are not attending Catholic School? Registration begins in late August in the parish office.
Classes start the first Wednesday in October at our school from 4-5pm and meet every Wednesday until the end of May the following year. Parents must fill out registration forms whether their child is just beginning Year 1 or returning for Year 2 and up. New students are required to provide a copy of the Baptismal certificate unless they are also seeking Baptism. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles requires two years of preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. Children should be at least in first grade to begin the classes.
